What is the project about

Knight & Wolf Project is a music publishing and entertainment media created in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The project materials are created in Russian and adapted for English speaking audience.

The project was established in 2017 by two composers: Ilya Denisov and Alexey Tsarkov and an artist Alexander Denisov. Knight & Wolf music album created in 2018 became the foundation of this project. After some time the project was given the same name as the album.

After a final album presentation and an exhibition in 2019 which took place in Nizhny Novgorod, the project started a new journey. Here you can find modern classics and soundtrack music, film and game reviews and other products related to medieval and fantasy aesthetics.

Music is the central part of the project and its main purpose is to preserve a melody as the basis of each music piece. The project aims to create art pieces and creative actions which will combine diverse genres and art forms. The aesthetic goal of this project is to amaze an audience by eclectic combination of different means of artistic expressions. And thus touching it visually, audibly and emotionally.

Knight & Wolf Project brought together artists, musicians, designers, writers and interpreters. The project does not have a prominent team although anyone who became part of it once, leaves their own unique mark.

The project’s ethical mission is reflected in publications. The project’s founder and publications’ author encourages to look at nostalgic memories filled with childhood impressions and dreams as a resource which can determine your life’s purpose in adult life. The project explores the definition of dream, happiness, unhappiness, love and life’s purpose. It tackles the issues of generation gap, the relations between ethical and aesthetic in humans’ life and shows the audience a new perspective on parent-child relationships.

The project was inspired by numerous art works, personalities and events. Among them: Berserk manga and anime series by Miura Kentaru, art film The Seventh Seal directed by Ingmar Bergman, art film The Flying Dutchman directed by Jos Stelling, art film Lady Hawk directed by Ruchard Donner, a trilogy of KIN Fables short films directed by Sebastial and Ben McKinnons, Andrey Tarkovsky’s filmography, Bosch’s and his disciples symbolic art, philosopher Carl Jung’s Man and His Symbols, selected works and biographies writers and thinkers of the 20th century and Dark Souls games series.

This project supports entertainment media, charity and educational projects. The authors of such projects can refer to publications and cite them without asking a consent.
